One of three posters commissioned from the celebrated linocut artist, Paul Catherall, to highlight the major new public transport interchange, Kings Cross St Pancras. Paul Catherall chose the recently renovated St Pancras station as the third poster commissioned by Transport for London to celebrate the opening of this magnificent transport interchange. St Pancras is the new London terminal for high speed services to Europe as well as performing its original function of serving the East Midlands.
St Pancras station opened in 1869 and its impressive trainshed was designed by William Barlow. The highly ornate station frontage (originally designed as a hotel) was conceived by the legendary architect George Gilbert Scott.
