The gap in late Sunday morning services was the convention of the day as it was expected that most people were at Church. The timetable was quickly proved to be inadequate and as new steam engines and carriages were hurriedly ordered, services became more frequent to meet the overwhelming demand.
Noteworthy were the three classes of travel – 1st, 2nd and 3rd and the open timetable from Farringdon (Street) to Paddington.
We have taken great care to source a particular paper type that helps enhance this facsimile copy.
With this poster we are issuing a contemporary steam timetable, one each for 13th and 20th January 2913. These will be available after each steam event.
