Andre Marty was born where he studied at the Ecole des Beaus Artists and worked as an illustator, engineer and theatre designer.
He is well known for his fashion plates produced for the Gazette du Bon Tom, Femina, Journal des Dames et les Modes and Vogue. In 1910 he designed posters for the Ballet Russes at the Pans Opera. He also designed sets and costumes for the Theatre.
Andre Marty designed 19 posters for London Transport and its predecessors. Most of the Museum's collection of posters may be viewed and purchased online.
