The ‘F Series’ of fire engines began production in 1946, the F12 being the more popular with the larger production running from the late 1950s and into the 1960s. The F12 was constructed of a wooden frame skinned with aluminium and was produced in both rear and side pump versions. Many examples of this typically British fire engine were operated by London Fire Brigade.
