Before the redesign of London Transport Museum started, Bruce Rowling, a Museum Friend, had made a drawn record of the displays in the "old" Museum. He than volunteered as the Refurbishment Project's artist. His quiet presence in high-visability jacket. hard hat and boots, with sketchbook and drawing board became an ever-present feature of the site.
His is a very human record, showing the sheer effort, the colour and characteristic poses of the workforce; the attitudes they struck, the tools they used, the lettering of logos and names, all against great lumps of hardware and the silent presence of the Flower Market building itself.
