The London County Council Tramways network was the largest municipal system in Great Britain. For over three decades, from the start of the twentieth century, its electric trams served Londoners. Sadly, the reign of the Council Tramways was too short, and the efficient network deserved a better fate that that which arrived on 1st July 1933, at the hands of the London Passenger Transport Board.
