The post war London Underground had changed little. A few postponed extensions were opened. While London Transport planners battled with the Government for new trains, signalling and the automated Victoria Line, life underground continued unchanged. The training and information films on this DVD reflect these times.

Four films from the archives of the London Transport Museum featuring the post war Underground. Safety on the Track from 1951 is a film primarily for track workers showing how to work on the track and with views at Lillie Bridge depot. Power Signal Lineman from 1953 demonstrates the work of this important member of the Underground team. Centred on West Ruislip, maintenance and repairs to signals and points are featured. School for Service from 1953 highlights the Railway Training Centre at Lambeth North. Under Night Streets from 1958 shows the after hours tunnel cleaning and the replacement of a broken.
