Model type: Leyland National
Livery: Grey Green
A fine detail scale model of a short Leyland National (the ubiquitous 1970's British single deck bus) in Grey Green livery.
Grey Green was a trading name of the George Ewer Group, an important London bus and coach operator founded in 1885. For many years the company was famous for express services from north and east London to East Anglia and for its extensive private hire and excursion operations. When buses in London were partly de-regulated in 1986, Grey Green enthusiastically tendered for London Bus operations.
This model, however, depicts operation in the Medway towns area in North Kent, route 151 to Chatham. Grey Green (and the rest of the Ewer Group) are one of the founding cornerstones of Arriva plc, now one of Europe's largest transport companies.
