Moquette Hinged Cube

Moquette material began being used in the 1920’s because of its hard-wearing qualities and the fact that it could be mass-produced for the transport system. Moquette fabric, which is predominantly wool, is a preferred upholstery fabric because it absorbs the impact of body pressure and adapts to the shape of the human body. The hinged moquette cube not only serves as extra seating in a room, but a table top and storage chest, the base of the cube sits flush with the floor and entire unit is 47 cm high. The moquette fabric surrounds the entire outer of the cube, including the top edge of the inside to ensure a soft close even when lid is dropped down. The cube opens with one metal hinge on the interior and when closed none of the black matte lining is visible. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Please refer to the moquette fabric swatch image for a representation of the fabric colour.
