Wimbledon Tennis designed by Anna Katrina Zinkeisen in 1934 features a female tennis player in the foreground with racket in hand. The stylized figure is dressed in full tennis apparel with collared polo shirt, knee-length pleated skirt and close fitting tennis shoes. In the background a small depiction of a birds eye view of Wimbledon stadium hovers just above the court that the woman stands upon. Anna Katrina Zinkeisen was born in Kilcreggan, Scotland in 1901 before moving to Harrow, London at 8 years old. Zinkeisen studied at the Royal Academy Schools in 1916 where she won several medals. Zinkeisen is known for her society portraits and painting of flowers, though she also painted murals, made sculptures, designed book jackets and magazines and posters. She designed posters for London Transport between 1933-1944. Anna Katrina Zinkeisen died in 1976.
