The Coolicon pendant lamp shade is a recognised design classic first introduced into the market 80 years ago.
The Coolicon was the inspiration for many lights which shone in Britain's corridors of power from the 40s to the 60s but this Coolicon comes with a twist. Designer Trent Jennings has created a TfL collection using the colour palette of the original London Underground Tube Map, designed by Harry Beck and first published in 1933, for both the shade and it's fabric flex.
In addition to the solid colour shades, there is also a limited edition range using the map itself.
The Coolicon Classic has been recreated to exacting standards, tooled to perfection in England using the finest steel.
TfL & Coolicon
A classic pendant shade first seen 80 years ago lighting London's underground stations has been revived by a leading UK product designer in collaboration with TfL (Transport for London).
The Coolicon pendant shade is a recognised design classic, previewed in TfL's Pick Restaurant and Bar at London's designjunction show, September 24-27 2015. But today's Coolicon comes with a twist: designer Trent Jennings of Blue Marmalade, with permission from TfL, has taken the colour palette of the original London Underground map, designed by Harry Beck and as first published in 1933, for both the shade and its fabric flex. In addition to solid colour shades, there is also a limited edition using the map itself.
