Andrew Bylo is an influential illustrator currently based in Whitby, Yorkshire. Notable clients apart from Transport for London have been P&O and Desain Clothing in Japan. Mile End Park and London's Garden Squares were two posters commissioned to celebrate renewed interest in London's formal open spaces. Mile End Park had recently been considerably revamped with a new ‘garden’ bridge over the busy Mile End Road.

After the Simply series of posters ceased to form a central part of Transport for London's Marketing campaigns in 2000, some art posters, including Mile End Park, were displayed on commercial sites on London Underground that hadn’t been purchased by advertisers.
