This summertime poster of Bushy Park dates from 1926. It was designed by David Wilson for the Underground Electric Company Ltd. The poster was designed to highlight the large number of green open spaces which were in the city and allowed Londoners to escape from the busy city life. Many of these open spaces had previously been grounds of large houses and royal parks. Some of these areas were specially created to accommodate the population as London expanded. David Wilson was a landscape artist and flower painter in water-colours as well as a cartoonist and caricaturist. He exhibited at both the Royal Academy and the Royal Institute.
