The context of this poster was 'An Orange Sunset waning low' whilst depicting the large open green spaces available to Londoners and encouraging visits to Richmond, Hampstead and Harrow Hill.
Walter E. Spradbery was born in 1889 in East Dulwich, London and died in 1969. He trained at Walthamstow Art School and his poster designs were primarily produced for London Transport, but he also completed work for British Rail and the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER).
