Produced in 1914 for the Underground Electric Railways Company Ltd. to advertise Hampstead Heath as being a place to experience fresh air and sunshine during the summer months with your family, with a large marquee in the background. The poster uses a play on words with its caption, ‘Take Your Son and Heir Where There is Sun and Air’ to capture the moment in the poster.
The poster was designed by Charles Sharland, a prolific artist. who designed posters for Underground Group from 1908 to 1922. However, he never signed his work for London Transport.
