This charming poster designed by James Henry Dowd features a small child feeding an elephant whose trunk is only visible in the image. It was published by the Underground Group in 1924 and promotes travel by Underground to Regents Park or Camden Town to visit London Zoo. James Henry Dowd designed posters for the Underground Group between 1924 and 1926. James Henry Dowd was primarily a draughtsman, etcher and painter who specialised in illustrations of children, particularly for the books by Brenda Spender. He was a regular contributor to The Graphic. From 1906 he contributed to Punch and became the magazine's first film cartoonist.
