Herry Perry’s stylized map of Richmond Park and Kew Gardens helps to show passengers of London Transport just how easy it is to access fresh air from public transport. Once arrived, the map details all the outdoor activities available to Londoners, from horseback riding to golf to nature walks. This is one of many posters at this time which emphasized the fresh air destinations which London Underground had to offer. Born Heather Perry in 1893, Herry Perry studied at London School of Arts and Craft and specialized in wood carving. Perry went on to design posters, pub signs and playing cards and illustrating books including ‘Entertaining with Elisabeth Craig’ before her death in 1962. Herry Perry designed for Underground Group and London Transport between 1928-1937.
