One of many posters designed by Charles Sharland for the Underground Electric Railways Company Ltd. This poster showing a traditional punting scene, was designed in 1913, to advertise Staines on the River Thames and how to arrive there by bus from Hounslow. Charles Sharland was a prolific studio artist at Waterlow and Sons Printers, who designed posters for the Underground Group from 1908 to 1922. He never signed his work for London Transport.
