Londons New Architecture by Bus and Tube

This poster by artist Edwina Ellis was commissioned by London Transport in 1996 and features what was then new architecture from around London. Included in the poster are: National Gallery, Lords, Embankment Place, Waterloo International station, Tate Gallery, Finsbury Park Avenue, Sterling Hilton Hotel, Royal Academy, Lloyds of London. Edwina was born in Australia in 1946 and moved to London in 1972. Her fame as an engraver has seen her design coinage for Royal Mint and The Times newspaper masthead.

After commissioning of the 'Simply' series of posters ceased in 2000 with a change of policy by the newly formed Transport for London, poster art commissioning still occasionally continued, supported by TDI (the advertising contractor for London Underground at that time).
