London Transport Railways Map 1933 30x40 print
London’s diagrammatic Underground map, first devised in 1931 by Harry Beck, can truly be described as a design classic. Over time, the map has evolved from tracing the first railways in the Capital to encompassing an integrated network that covers ever growing distances. The diagrammatic style of the map has been used by many other worldwide cities.
In this 1933 version, the main features of this map are the use of 45 degree angles and diamonds to illustrate interchange stations.
