0te from Brian Watson: The poster was conceived back in 1977, by Peter Hobden and myself over lunch in a restaurant close to the offices of Foote Cone & Belding. Peter came up with the headline: 'Fly The Tube', and I drew the 0se of Concorde onto the front end of a Tube train, the poster was created on the restaurant napkin. We have won many awards for this poster, and the accompanying TV ad. Indeed, I'm looking at the Silver Lion from the Cannes festival, sitting on my shelf. At the time of the creation of this campaign, both Peter Hobden and myself were Creative Directors at Foote Cone & Belding. More recently our 'Fly The Tube' poster was voted, by the ad industries Campaign Magazine, as one of the great posters of the last fifty years.
