A cricket poster which gives the fixtures for the matches at Lord’s and the Oval in the 1928 season, showing the nearest underground stations to the two venues. The poster was designed by Percy Drake Brookshaw, for the Underground Electric Railway Company. Percy Brookshaw studied at the Central School of Arts and produced illustrations and advertising material as well as posters for various companies including British Railways. He was frequently associated with producing artwork for sporting events such as the Wembley Football Cup Finals and the University Boat Race. As well as completing commissions for poster artworks he regularly contributed illustrations to the Radio Times.
