Tom Eckersley was one of Britain's foremost poster designers and between 1935 and 1995 produced over 70 different poster artworks for London Transport. The Piccadilly line was extended from Hounslow West to Heathrow Central in 1977 and this artwork was commissioned as construction work commenced.
