‘Rugby at Twickenham’ published in 1921 for the Underground Electric Railway Company Ltd. is Laura Knight’s first poster designed for the London Underground.
Laura Knight, born in Long Eaton Derbyshire, was one of the most popular British painters of the 20th century. Knight studied at the Nottingham School of Art from 1892 and in 1936 was the first woman elected as a full member to the Royal Academy.
