London Zoo 30x40 Print
This artwork was commissioned by London Transport in 1976, designed by Abram Games to promote London Zoo.
The design cleverly constructs a tiger out of bars and circles, the components of London Transport's distinctive roundel.
In the four black squares that make up the vertical sections of the tail, there are tiny Hebrew symbols. Together they mean 'Revital', which is a Hebrew name meaning "be saturated with dew".
Games is thought to have hidden the names of family members in several London Transport posters.
This was the last design Games produced for London Transport, and is regarded as one of his best.
