This poster designed by Alma Faulkner in 1925 is promoting the Underground as fastest and brightest way of travelling to the West End for shows, pantomimes and plays in the dark evenings via Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. She has a theatrical design background.
Alma Faulkner designed posters for London Transport between 1925 and 1928.
Alma Faulkner was the producer together with Oswald Curtis for the theatre production ‘The Bluebird Touch’ which opened at the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue on the 30th October 1921. She was responsible for the costumes and props and her involvement in theatre production is evident in the posters she later created for London Transport.
