By Trolleybus to Kingston Poster
This poster promotes the London United Tramways service to the town to visit the old market place or enjoy riverside walks, boating and bathing on the Thames. The illustration depicts one of the original L.U.T. trolleybuses driving through Kingston upon Thames in southwest London. In 1931, the L.U.T. introduced the first trolleybuses in London to the Kingston area. Former tram routes were converted for use by trolleybuses at less than half the estimated cost of tramway modernisation.
