Born in Northampton, with no formal art training, Alfred Leete began his career as a humorous illustrator. In 1927 Leete produced this work for the Underground Electric Railway Company Ltd. This image reiterates the pull of the Underground, drawing passengers in and shuttling them to their different destinations.
